Department Overview:
Incentive Platform Department (INPD) is responsible for developing and operating the Rakuten Point and Rakuten Coupon. We develop and manage Rakuten PointClub and other point related web products, which are among the most popular sites in Rakuten. We will drive the improvement to maximize Rakuten Point value and contribute to the Rakuten Ecosystem. By the time you finish reading this, hundreds of thousands of points transactions have been processed and many users visit our web/app service. We want to work with a person who has a great passion for our services and products.

Position:
Why We Hire
We are looking for engineers for web front and backend development who can design, deliver and troubleshoot web applications with multiple components developed in different technologies. You will join the daily huddle to report your progress and work closely with Product Managers and Tech Lead to design and develop the applications. You are expected to take ownership of the quality, delivery and reliability of our services and seek to continuously improve the system and process by collaborating with other engineers.

Position Details
- Backend development of Rakuten Point
- Application development through design, coding, code review, test, release
- Improvement of existing services and features
- Introduction of new architecture, design of scalable system, and refactoring
- Improvement of development environment (Ex. CI/CD, test automation)
- Production support (on-call)
- Troubleshooting

求める経験・スキル

Mandatory Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in Java development
- Design and development experience for B2C service
- Development experience with a Relational database (Ex. MyQSL, Oracle, Clustrix)
- Experience in Agile development
- Experience with Container (Ex. Docker, Kubernetes)

Desired Qualifications:
- Design and development experience for high traffic systems
- Experience in Front development
- Experience in CI/CD and test automation
- Experience in application deployment and operation (on-premises and usage of a public cloud)
- Experience with Non-SQL development (Ex. Couchbase), especially KVS (including personal level)
- Experience working with global teams in different locations
- Experience with messaging systems (Ex. Kafka, RabbitMQ)
